Pineview Dam

After our fun morning up in Park City after the big run, we went up to Pineview Dam to my Dad's lakehouse and spent the day on the lake!
I just figured- what else can I do to work out my exhausted legs... OH! A PATTLE BOAT! perfect- Ya, we didn't get too far:) ha ha...
Nice action shot of all the wave-runner-ers...

My 1st 1/2 Marathon!!!

Saturday morning I ran in the
PARK CITY 1/2 MARATHON!

I officially ran farther than I have ever run... 13.1 miles!
That's right, I DID IT!!! Ya, you can just call me Pheidippides:)

I finished in 2:01 hours, averaging 9.2 minute miles- which was pretty good for me, considering I have never enjoyed running before, & I used to think that a 5K was a big feat (3 miles? please, that's a WARM UP!)...

I ran the race with my friend Erin Dane- Well, lets just say I started the race with her, but after 3 miles her competitiveness kicked in and she was marching up that 7 mile hill a little too fast for me, and she left me, slightly discouraged and music-less. So, even though I was used to chatting away while I run (to take my mind off how far I had left, my aches & pains, etc), I chugged each mile along by enjoying the beautiful scenery and making a few friends along the way! I guess it was for the best, however, because I was able to finish the race on my own- which I would have not before thought possible! Also, I conserved my energy in order to finish strong- running through the finish line!
Those last 2 miles were the WORST, because I thought it seemed so short, & I felt like I should be seeing the finish line any second, but 2 miles was still 2 miles. Everything was all worth it when I heard my father in law Blaine yell: "yeah Jamie", then, just around the corner I saw little Rylee Jo on her Daddy's shoulders waving her hand off, yelling "hi mommy!!!" There was Blaine, Becky, Steven Ry & Milly! Man, that was an emotional moment right there... All my biggest fans, there to cheer me on through the finish line! YAHOO!!!
I DID IT- I finished my first 1/2 Marathon!

...Now, one may ask- on to a full Marathon? Well, that was once a goal/ dream of mine... but now? Umm, maybe not so much! I may just stick with the 1/2's. A half was perfect- I pushed myself super hard, but didn't kill myself. So, we'll have to see if I ever do a full? (but maybe next time when steve decides to sign us BOTH up for a race, he'll actually run it with me? And not just get the awesome t-shirt...) ha ha ha:)
