Chicken Little

What came first... the chicken or the Egg???

Congrats to our Mother Hen! your FIRST-borned EGG!

So excited to gather our first home-grown Eggs produced,

& eat our very first Smith-Farm-Fresh scrambled eggs...


the neighborhood kids come to see our amazing EGGs, and love the farm adventure...


One day, after cookin up a few of Ladies' eggs for breakfast... we noticed she had hopped up on the grill outside our kitchen window and was watching us! She just sat and watched us all morning. (yes, that is Milly playing in the water in the sink:)

Well, we thought it'd be interesting to see what she'd do if we opened up the window. She certainly didn't get scared off, she just became more curious!

Well, open it a little further, and our Chicken Little was helping herself RIGHT into our Kitchen!

We were laughing our heads off! Milly said... I think she smells her eggs we cooked! ha ha ha

Rylee Jo First Violin Recital 10/9

Practice & Performance...

1- "My name is Rylee Jo and I will be playing: Tucka-Tucka-Stop-Stop"

2- 'rest, zip, play'

3- violin solo with piano accompaniment,
Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Variation A.
AKA: "tucka-tuck-stop-stop"
played BEAUTIFULLY!!!

4- BIG breath, pause, and... bow. "Arigato"
followed by 'awh' from audience of this tiny little 4 year old & her tiny little violin:-)

Lastly: group performance of "Twinkle Theme".
This was her first time playing it this fast and with a group, and she did amazing.

Rylee's First Symphony 9/28

Rylee Jo & her Mommy/Daddy date...
the Utah Symphony's Salute to Youth at the Abravanel Hall

This was a neat experience for Rylee Jo and us. It was her special date with Mommy & Daddy. She had worked very hard over the past 6 months practicing the violin, and next week was her first violin recital. We wanted to give her the opportunity to see the youth violinists to perform with the Utah Symphony.

We sat right up close, and it was fun to see Rylee as she watched these violinists. Sitting that close watching those incredibly talented, young, violinists was really neat. Rylee recognized many things, like how fast their fingers moved.
This was Rylee's favorite performer, because she liked her beautiful dress, and she especially loved the last big note she played was so dramatic we could see a big puff of rosin/dust!

It was amazing to watch Rylee play right along with these performers on her "pretend violin" in the air. For the second half, we sat in the very back where all the open seats were, and Rylee danced and twirled around, bowing on her "violin" to the songs.

We are so proud of this little girl. She is naturally musically gifted, and one amazing & special little Angel.
We look forward to seeing what this little sweetheart will achieve in her life!

Grandma smith's Funeral 9/20

After the passing of Great Grandma Smith, a beautiful service was held in her honor. All the Smith family came together to celebrate the life of such an amazing woman!

After the service, my girls had the opportunity to meet the Prophet of the Lord, President Monson...

These little cousins were standing amongst a group of people wanting to meet the prophet, and a neat woman behind us urged the girls up to the front, and had them introduce themselves & shake the hand of the Prophet. He was so kind to allow us to take a moment to take this picture.
What a neat experience and memory for our girls to have!

After a beautiful gravesight dedication, President Monson called any little children to come visit with him if they wanted, and Rylee Jo didn't hesitate a bit. She just walked right up to him very first to shake his hand again! The Prophet called the little children to gather round his knee, just as the Savior did.

The funeral services held were a beautiful tribute to Grandma Smith and the amazing life she led. We will miss her and her example, but her testimony of all that is good and true will live on for generations to come!
